Are You My Mother???

A truly amazing thing happend to me today as I headed through my front door to take out the trash! Fluttering gently down from the sky and coming to rest right on the top of my foot came the cutest little baby bird, from out of nowhere! In an earnest desire to protect and befriend him, I reached down and gathered him up, cuddling him with my 2 hands to my chest. He looked up at me unafraid with little trusting rounded eyes that asked ... "Are you my mother"? My heart melted at the sight of such a tiny delicate perfect creature all alone on the doorstep of a home with 3 house cats!!! After a short but meaningfull acquaintanceship, I carefully placed him on the branch of our big Maple tree in the middle of our front lawn but he didn't want to be left alone, he hopped back onto my finger and peered at me questioningly. I checked him over for any harm but all seemed well with him. We cuddled for a few minutes, I stroked his head, little neck and feathers, then gently but firmly put him back in the tree. His mother's scolds could be heard along with tiny sounds coming from what could only be his sibblings. He hopped and flew up from branch to branch to rest high in the tree, awaiting his next meal or his next experience. Needless to say the cats haven't been allowed out today, much to their dismay. Half an hour later little bird was spotted sleeping on a high branch with his nest-mates. What a lovely day it was, an excerpt taken straight from a Dr. Seuss book of my children's childhood.

A Box From Afar!!!

I am beyond a doubt one very lucky knitter!! I have made some really wonderful friends from far and wide!! I received a box back in August from my knitting/email pal Elaine!!! (I know .. shame on me for not getting this posted LONG AGO .. LOL) My daughter Megan and her friends were travelling through Elaine's hood heading for Six Flags (giggles), they met up at the hotel and this fabulous box came back home to me a few days later!! I am truly blessed!!

Megan and Elaine at the hotel!

Opening the Box!! SUSPENSE at it's finest! hehehe

Look at all the Goodies inside!!!! The yarn is a gift from Elaine to ME from WEBS!!! WOOO HOOOOO

Just look at all those "Precious Hats" for itty bitty baby heads!! They were all lovingly hand knit by Elaine (see her blog here: http://downcloverlaine.blogspot.com/)!! The picture doesn't do them justice, they are just beautiful.

Frodo Beans Gets his 1st Haircut!!

Frodo has had his first haircut today, his baby fur is gone! He's was still just an itty bitty wittle boy underneat all the fluffy fur! He looks so tiny, I need to fatten him up!
Who knew getting your fur cut for summer would be so exhausting! LOL

Frodo Beans Gets a Bath!!

It just so happens that getting a BATH is not Frodo's favorite activity! LOL He tolerates it well but he's not impressed with that word! Poor Baby looks so forlorn!

No Sir!! I don't like it Mama, don't like it at all!!
Are we done yet?!?!?!

WHEW ... I survived!!!

As soon as she puts me down I'm gonna shake my butt real good and spray water ALL OVER her ... I'll teach her to give ME a bath!!!
